Cotubanamà National Park is one of the most popular destinations in the nation due to its abundance of natural caverns. Stunning white sand beaches on Saona and Catalina Islands complement the area's 300 bird species and 500 plant species.

 

There are a plethora of coastal dive spots and snorkeling spots teeming with marine life like manatees and dolphins. One of the most crucial places in the Dominican Republic for sea turtles to lay their eggs is on the beaches of the National Park.

Up till the village of San Rafael de Yuma, the protected area is bordered by the highways La Romana-Bayahibe and La Romana-Higuey. Embryoed coral rock dominates the landscape of Parque Nacional del Este.

 

More than twenty ceremonial squares, eight aboriginal cemeteries, and twenty-seven caves are among the significant archaeological sites preserved by the park. These artifacts reveal the cultural expressions of the many indigenous peoples who lived on the island before European colonization.
